Brown very happy to discuss bingo tax

21st Aug 2007

Gordon Brown told parliment he was "very happy" to discuss the levels of taxation and other things in the gaming industry with Bingo bosses.

Bosses have complained that Bingo is taxed twice as gross profit is taxed as well as the participation fee the players pay to the companies.

Brown also confirmed chancellor Alistair Darling was also looking into it.

Brown said to parliment:

"I can assure you that the Chancellor of the Exchequer will continue to look at these matters but I am also very happy to meet up to talk about it."
