Man arrested for bingo theft
18th January, 2008
John Crooks, 39, was arrested under a suspicion of stealing money from Norwich Little League and the Veterans memorial High Stakes Bingo.
He has allegedly stole $4,600 from the Norwich Little League and more than $10,500 from the bingo business. Crooks has been involved in both organizations, as he has been a treasurer for them during past few years.
The surprising thing is that he turned himself in, instead of waiting for the police to catch him. He did it yesterday before lunchtime.
He was later released with $2,500 bond and is expected to appear in court January 24.
