New Contribution Rules Set By The Government

29th February, 2008

A recent report on the website of Clarion Gaming has shown that Andy Burnham, the UK Government’s culture secretary, is set to introduce new regulations imposing compulsory funding on gaming operators. The forced funding is to go to the Responsibility in Gambling Trust for programmes that aid problem gambling and will be imposed on all gaming operators unless they take steps to voluntarily give more.

The new rules will affect all online bingo operators and developers, such as a href="http://www.bingoalerts.co.uk/reviews/mecca_bingo.html">Mecca Bingo and Party Bingo, as well as online bingo halls across the United Kingdom. Reviews and reports show that online bingo is the sector in the gaming industry that is least affected by problem gambling, but the regulations will still be imposed upon them.

Reports show that only an estimated 380 gaming operators currently pay money into the Responsibility in Gambling Trust. This is a mere 10% of the total number of gaming operators in the UK.
