Microgaming Receives Gaming License in Malta
14th November, 2007
Microgaming, the online gaming software developer responsible for the operations in Dream Bingo as well as other popular online bingo halls has been granted a Class IV online gaming license. The license, granted by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) in Malta is the gateway for many of the company’s partners to now operate within the European Union.
The tiny EU country of Malta provides a big opportunity for Microgaming and their partners since Malta has been exempted by the UK Gambling Commission from regulations which stop online gaming companies from advertising in the UK. Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever shares his pride of obtaining the license:
“We are delighted to have been granted a Maltese license for our casino product and look forward to being able to offer our operators this gateway into the EU. The review process involves a rigorous technical assessment and it is always rewarding when your own high standards are recognised by others- more so when it’s a European Union jurisdiction such as Malta.”
