Mecca Bingo Mum Bliss

A 37-year-old mum was celebrating yesterday after winning a huge £55,000 at a Mecca Bingo hall in Paisley. She hit the jackpot after spending just £2 on a bingo card.
Alistair Steele, general manager at the club, said: “It was absolutely fantastic when she won. She jumped out of her seat and screamed the house down. She is a regular at our club and has been playing here since we opened. Everybody knows her. Sunday is our busiest night and everyone was clapping and cheering. It certainly got loud.”
The mum of three chose not to be named, but told how she was going to split the winnings equally with her two friends who went with her that night. The Paisley Mecca Bingo club is proving to be fairly lucky, with three members winning the National Game since opening a year ago. She was a winner on the Mecca Millionaire game, which is held twice each day and involves every Mecca club in the UK. There is a £1million prize for the first member to call house, completing the card with the number one.
