Gala Bingo pulls out of National Bingo Game

21st May, 2008

Last night Gala Bingo, the leading UK online bingo operator, has announced its decision to pull out of the National Bingo Game by August this year.

The decision came after an opportunity opened up for Gala Bingo as the law changed and will now allow rollover prizes. The bingo giant has reported that it needs to concentrate on its own jackpot game from now on and therefore will be out of the game in three months time.

This is really bad new for the National Bingo game, as Gala Bingo has one third of all the clubs taking part in the National Bingo Game. This means that around 170 clubs out of the total 500 clubs that were involved in the game, will now be pulled out and no longer contribute.

Gala Bingo decision will most likely cause the National Bingo Game jackpot drop significantly. This in terms is going to seriously damage smaller UK bingo clubs, which are unable to pay out big sums of money, compared to Gala Bingo or its closest rival, Mecca Bingo.

The National Bingo Game has been widely successful due to the big payouts delivered to players around the UK. The grand total paid out to National Bingo winners since 1986, when the game was first introduced, is astonishing £1 billion. Every week the jackpot on the National Bingo game has been reaching and beating £1 million limit.

Last week, for instance, Soraya Lowell, 38, from Hamilton, went home with a record of £1.2 million.
