Gala Bingo Reveals The Worst Xmas Gift Culprits!

9th December, 2009

The staff at Gala Bingo has been hard at work not only bringing you great games and promotions but researching all about Christmas gifts! Their research has revealed that it’s the females in the family that are responsible for buying the worst gifts at Christmas!

The research was undertaken to celebrate the fantastic gift Gala is giving away this year, £150,000 worth of jackpots! The poll of 2,000 people discovered that aunts are the worst present buyers, with brothers coming to a close second.

When asked what the worst presents were, it was found that cheap designer perfumes and cosmetics were the worst offenders. In addition to socks, Christmas jumpers and kitchen utensils! Other unwanted gifts included car vacuums, scarf sets, novelty items and a computer mouse.

The most sought after gifts seem to be more high end including, laptops, cameras, mp3 players and more sentimental gifts such as engagement rings. So it’s a good job Gala Bingo is giving away so much money to pay for it all!

Even though we may not receive the gifts we desire, we’re still a rather grateful nation with results showing that two thirds of us wouldn’t seek a refund come January. The most grateful age group tends to be the 26-30’s with the over 56s the most grateful of all.

Lesley Hall, online PR manager at galabingo.com, said: “It has been interesting to see how the nation really feels about the presents they receive at Christmas and who is responsible for buying those unwanted gifts! To help our online players have the best Christmas this year and receive a present they really want, galabingo.com is giving away three £50k jackpots in December.”

Each Friday evening (11, 18 December) at 9pm, the online bingo site will be running a special ‘Xmas Cracker Link Game’, which will offer the following prizes: 1 line - £3k 2 lines - £7k Full House - £20k

And what’s more, even if a player isn’t lucky enough to win, if they are playing in the same club as the ‘Full House’ winner, they can still share the remaining £20k prize fund, which will certainly help get the Christmas celebrations started!
