Foxy Bingo Ditches Jordan
18th January, 2008
Foxy Bingo, one of the biggest UK online bingo operators, will not have Jordan, aka Katie Price, in their adverts anymore; assumingly due to the high pay demands the glamour model has insisted on.
This means that from now on the face of Foxy – a man with a mask of a fox and a nice suit, will be in the spotlight all by himself, without his pretty companion.
Last year Foxy’s parent company, Cashcade, said it was planning to redirect budget from direct marketing onto the TV promotion, with four times bigger budget assigned for this purpose in 2008.
The reasons for such more were based on the expected serious increase in competition from other online bingo operators, which are allowed to advertise on TV, due to the Gambling Act 2005 which was introduced September 1, 2007.
The effect of Jordan being dropped on these plans cannot be outlined just yet. The ad with her in it was supposed to be shot last September but the plans have failed to realise due to the breakdown in negotiation process.
Cashcade has stated that they plan to use celebrity endorsement in their marketing campaign mainly on radio and magazines.
