Call for VAT on bingo earnings to be scrapped.

Bingo Operators are subject to additional VAT taxation which bokomakers are exempt from.
Simon Hannah, the Chief Executive of Riva Gaming is calling for this taxation to be banned amid fear that over 100 bingo clubs will be forced to close down if it continues. This would result in not only a huge loss in revenue for the companies, but would also affect unemployment figures in the local areas.
Meetings are taking place with the government this week to discuss the future of VAT on bingo.
