Boom Time For Bingo Industry

27th March, 2008

Bingo Port, the United Kingdom's online bingo authority website, have released reports showing the significant boom in the online bingo industry.

The data, released today, shows that online bingo use in the UK has increased significantly over the past six months: Since September 2007 the average daily player numbers across all UK focused online bingo operators has increased about 19%.

Managing Director of Bingo Port, Scott Logan, said "As the only company here in the UK collecting industry wide data, we've seen this coming for quite a while" although he boom will not have taken anyone in the industry by surprise.

The report shows that the main factor in the boom is the abundance of bingo operators that have moved into the mainstream media with extensive marketing campaigns, following the relaxation of TV advertising from gambling six months ago.

Logan said: "What we have today is the big online bingo clubs, such as Foxy Bingo, Sun Bingo, Gala Bingo, Ladbrokes Bingo and the newly opened 888 Ladies, aggressively using media to acquire players in order to gain a foothold in the growing marketplace. We expect this to continue for some time yet."

Following the data released Logan predicts that "during the traditional slow period in the online gambling space (the summer) we can expect the growth to drop with further increases being seen from September onwards."
