Bollywood Prepares For Bingo!

Popular Bollywood actor, Abhishek Bachchan will be hosting a new TV Bingo show on Viacom 18’s Indian entertainment channel, called national Bingo Night and is tipped to be a high energy entertainment show.
In India, bingo is known as ‘housie’ and at the moment the game doesn’t have the same huge popularity as it does in the UK and America as it is only played on special occasions for example at social gatherings or at festivals due to India’s rather stringent gambling policies.
The TV show is expecting to put bingo in the spotlight in the country and create more awareness for the game loved by those that live in the west.
The host, Abhishek Bachchan, is the son of huge Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan who hosts India’s version of “who wants to be a millionaire?” is married to former Miss World and fellow Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan; all of whom are rumoured to feature on the first show.
Abhishek commented on the career move, “It is different. It is important to do different things. I have always done so with my career and with the kind of films I have done. It has to challenge me, something that I haven’t done before. So this suits me.”
The format of the new show will be of both quiz night and bingo. Each bingo ball will have a letter of the word bingo on it; you pick a ball and answer a quiz question. The first person that answers all of the questions correctly and gets all of the letters to spell bingo wins the game.
