Bingo Wins Super Bowl

4th February, 2008

Before the Super Bowl Sunday finished yesterday, the Bonner Senior Center managed to fill up with dedicated bingo players who came to the monthly fund-raiser long before it started.

Ed Daschbach, chairman of the center's ways and means committee, which organizes the regular game sessions, had this to say: "I really didn't expect this. It's a nice crowd, 53 people."

Patti Coffey, who works in the center office, was also amazed by the number of bingo enthusiasts, considering the normal interest in sports between Bonners.

This is what she said on the day of the event: "We run a bus to Cubs games that always fills up."
