Bingo Win For Cancer Patient

7th March, 2008

50 year old mother of three Julie Bowes-Shorten has recently been diagnosed with cancer for the third time. She had just finished her covery from Cancer for the second time and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which she is still battling against.

She went on to win £100,000 at her local Mecca Bingo club, with a full house in 40 numbers - the lowest call nation wide for the National Bingo.

Julie said "I feel like luck's turned around for us as I can't earn money and cannot claim benefits". She plans to give most of the money to her children and grandchildren.
