Bingo Players = Generous Crowd
17th January, 2008
11-year old Ebony Bray came back from the Catalina Country Club after playing bingo there last Monday morning; when she realised that her bag is missing. She came back to discover that her bag was gone together with everything that was in it: an Ipod and a new Nintendo DS, a Christmas present from her gran, who always plays in that bingo club.
What happened next was absolutely amazing. Club staff member Donna Dickson asked all the bingo players to donate some cash towards trying to recover girl’s stuff.
Before another bingo night began on Monday, Ebony was pleasantly surprised by a new silver bag, a pink Nintendo DS and an additional two games to go with it.
Ebony was amazed by the generosity of bingo players and stated “I am extremely glad we have such a nice community here!”
Ebony’s mother, Deane Ribot de Brassac, was informed about the surprise planned for the girl during the weekend, but did not spill a word to her daughter.
The girl said she didn’t expect such great generosity from the people who donated and Donna Dickson, who organised the recovery of her possessions.
