Bingo Company Gives up rights for CB

21st January, 2008

The SM City-Bacolod building, which got padlocked by the city government in March 2007, because of the lack of Major’s Permit, has now lost PVI, their first ever bingo tenant. The manager of the SM City-Bacolod has reported to the major that bingo company, Phuture Visions Company Inc., that held some rights to the space inside the building, has given them up now.

In March 2007, SM City-Bacolod introduced Happy Bingo to the SM City. The company is managed by Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella’s sons.

The manager of the mall requested city council to remove the padlock and they have a company in mind that could be suited for the space, also a bingo company , but the one that manages bingo outlets in a number of SM malls.

Allan Zamora is now in charge of the case, after the Mayor delegated the case to him. Zamora promised Jardiolin that the padlock will be removed in the near future.

Nevertheless, it will be harder to get the game going there, as to operate bingo, the company would need to get a “Mayor’s Certification of No Objection”.

There will be no Mayor’s Permits available prior to getting “Mayor’s Certification of No Objection”. The fact that the company is in some other SM malls, doesn’t change the need for certificate.
