20-year-old wins £21k at Gala Bingo

A 20-year-old man has scooped a huge £21,000 jackpot at his local Gala Bingo hall.
George Carter of Basingstoke was thrilled with the huge win, and goes to prove that more and more young people are discovering the fun that can be had playing bingo: "Bingo's losing its old image - younger people are starting to go because of the sort of money you can win," he said.
The win came in a Basingstoke Leisure Park's Gala Bingo club. Mr Carter says he will now be treating his family and friends whilst taking a break in Lanzarote. He remarked: "It's more than a year's wages, tax-free, in one go - it's unbelievable!"
The big winner picked up the £120 house prize, the £1,004 regional prize and the National Bingo Game prize which was a whopping £20,000 for getting his full house in 46 numbers! 470 clubs were playing nationwide, and his was the lowest call of all of them.
His parents took some convincing after telling them about the win, saying: "My parents didn't believe me when I told them, even when I showed them the form the club had given me. They thought I had been to a mate's house to make it up."
